At Millcreek Meadows one of our cherished values is ‘Education’, and we take it seriously! When it comes to horses, and their well-being we never stop learning about the horse care, communication, and health. We are committed to continuous education.
At Millcreek Meadows, we host horse clinics to allow horse people (and interested people) to have access to continual learning. These clinics vary from horsemanship, balanced riding, saddle fit, to general horse care and health. We are always looking for the best clinicians who focus on whole horse learning from around the world. One of the great things we offer to clinicians and experts is the chance to come to teach in an unusual environment – right here in the middle of a city! It is so exciting to be in the middle of the city and get to spend days with other people who love horses, and learning, not just about our horses, but with our horses. That is an element a lot of people overlook; it is just as important that we learn with our horses, as it is to learn about them.
What Do You Learn in Clinics?
In the horse world, no one person will ever know all there is to know. Offering the opportunity for various clinicians to come to Millcreek Meadows, share their insights and allow for everyone to better themselves. These clinics are open to everyone, people with horses and for those who are thinking about getting a horse, or just people who want to learn more about these majestic animals.
We strive to make horse clinics available to as many people as possible. Sometimes, the price of attendance of clinics can be high, we have been fortunate enough to offer scholarships to wonderful horse owners to ensure their attendance based on need and funding.
Our Approach to Horses in Clinics
As a barn, we have taken the 'whole horse horsemanship’ approach. We try and give our horses as natural a life as possible. We actively adjust our environment to allow the horses to run, investigate and form herds. It is an incredible opportunity, as horse caregivers, to watch and grow with the horses.
